Did you know that our Ascentis English and Mathematics Functional Skills qualifications will be available this academic year?
To support our centres with the assessment of these new qualifications, we have created our bespoke Functional Skills Preparation Stations. The Stations are online resources, built on the same Surpass system, that draw elements from the English and Mathematics Functional Skills assessments, allowing learners to gain familiarity with the assessment platforms.

Our Preparation Stations offer a unique approach to familiarising learners with the Functional Skills assessment platform. Students and tutors have the flexibility to navigate activities and practice questions at their own pace and in any order, providing a personalised learning experience.
Video tutorials are provided alongside scaffolded example questions to allow learners to practise answering different types of questions such as multiple choice, drag and drop and essay response. There are also activities to build familiarisation with mathematical functions such as pie and bar charts, scatter graphs and coordinate grids.
