Ascentis Outstanding Learner of the Year Award Winners 2024-25
The Ascentis Outstanding Learner of the Year Award recognises the hard work and commitment of individual learners who have achieved an Ofqual, CCEA or Qualifications Wales regulated qualification from Ascentis. They may have demonstrated a high level of skill or competence in their learning, or show exceptional resilience and commitment to study, perhaps through challenging circumstances. They will have demonstrated an enthusiasm for learning beyond the requirements of their course.
The nominations have been scrutinised by a panel of judges and a winner and finalist have been selected. These are:
WINNER: Imogen Morgan, Birmingham Metropolitan College
"Imogen has demonstrated unwavering determination in the face of significant adversity and has demonstrated exceptional resilience and commitment to study in order to pursue her lifelong ambition to become a doctor. She has resat her GCSEs, progressed onto the Ascentis Access HE Diploma in Science, achieving distinctions across the board and has been offered two places to study Medicine at University." Judge
FINALIST: Anastasiia Khodakivska, Oaklands College
"Anastasiia's extraordinary dedication and spirit make her a truly deserving recipient of this award. She overcame significant personal hurdles with remarkable resilience, excelling academically. Beyond her own achievements, she became a powerful inspiration to her peers, fostering a supportive and collaborative learning environment. Anastasiia embodies the transformative power of education and is a shining example of perseverance." Judge

We are thrilled to congratulate our fantastic winner and finalist! We would also like to recognise all of our nominees - your hard work truly stands out.
Our winner will receive a cheque for £400 and our finalist will receive a cheque for £200, to help them with their future studies. All learners nominated for an award receive a Certificate of Recognition from Ascentis. We would like to thank you all once again for your nominations.
