5 Reasons to Start an Access to HE Course in January
Access to Higher Education (HE) courses provide the perfect preparation for studying at university degree level while achieving a qualification equivalent to three A Levels. They are also a fantastic stepping-stone if you need to top up your existing qualifications or to gain the required UCAS points for your chosen degree course.
So why should you choose to enrol on an Access to HE course to begin in January?
1. New Year, New start
What better way to begin 2021 than by taking the first steps towards going to university or embarking on a new career or perhaps it’s your new year’s resolution to learn new skills. Make it a year to be proud of.
2. Flexible courses
An Access to HE course offers flexibility with many study options to work around any of other commitments you may have such as a job or family. You can complete an Access to HE Diploma through full-time study in one year, study part-time, take two or more years to complete it or take a fast-track course of just two terms.
3. Funding available
Access to HE Diplomas are all funded for learners 19+ through an Advanced Learner Loan. If you complete your Access to HE course and go onto complete a higher education qualification the loan is wiped off, meaning you won’t be left with any debt from completing an Access to HE Course.
4. Join around 37,200 Access to HE students who enrol every year
…and of those, around 23,300 go onto university to study at degree level.
5. Why wait
The most popular Access to HE Diplomas are those in health-related subjects and at the moment there are more than 200,000 job vacancies in the health and social care sectors ( Migration Advisory Committee Report, 2020).
If you are thinking of progressing your career, have always dreamed of going to university or would just like to further your knowledge and skills in a particular subject area, what better time to pursue your aspirations.
