Access To HE Welcomes New Students Starting In January 2021

We are delighted to support the new #AccesstoHE #JanuaryStart campaign to raise awareness of Access to Higher Education, the benefits for learners and to encourage as many people as possible to start a Diploma in January 2021.

During times like this, we often see an uptake in people wanting to upskill and retrain. With many Access to HE Diplomas centred around key occupational areas and critical skills gaps, this makes Access to HE an ideal mode of study and an important resource in responding to local and national needs to support a rapid recovery from the impact of the pandemic.

UK’s Number 1 Access Validating Agency (AVA)

With 45 years’ experience and being the UK’s largest AVA we are proud to offer a diverse portfolio of over 20 diplomas, with many covering critical subjects including Nursing & Midwifery, Health & Social Care, Allied Health Professions, Counselling & Psychology, Paramedic Science, Business, Engineering, Education, Computing, Practitioner in Substance Misuse, Policing & Criminal Justice and many more.

Recruiting Learners

We understand that learner recruitment can be difficult and finding time to create marketing materials for recruitment is challenging. As a result, we have created a bank of materials to help with this, which we are constantly developing and expanding on. Our Access to HE recruitment pack includes:

  • Learner Information
  • Posters and Printables
  • Social Media Content

We are currently in the process of adding to our recruitment pack with some great new resources coming in January.

How to get involved in the January Start Campaign

To get involved in the campaign to encourage learners to upskill and retrain by starting an Access to HE course in January, simply post on social media using the hashtags #AccesstoHE and #JanuaryStart.

The future of Access to HE Programmes in the new FE and Skills environment

Ascentis in association with e-Memoir Suitable for Directors of Curriculum, Access to HE Managers, Planning and Funding Managers and Data Managers. Access to HE provision is an important part of the FE and skills offer for adults seeking to progress to HE programmes but it is facing significant challenges in the new FE and skills environment. The Skills and Post-16 Education Act and Levelling Up and Regeneration Bill as well as the reviews of qualifications at level 3 and below, greater devolution of adult funding, increased use of remote learning, and the introduction of T levels, will together put significant pressure on FE colleges and other providers to review their curriculum offer and delivery. This one-hour webinar will provide you with the most up-to-date information on the future of Access to HE in light of these changes, and some insights into how providers might respond. It will cover • The importance and scope of Access to HE programmes • Funding of Access to HE programmes – Adult Education Budget and Advanced Learner Loans • Implications of the levelling up agenda for delivery of Access to HE – upskilling and retraining • Effective delivery mechanisms, including flexible and online learning – actions to support learners • Future prospects for Access to HE, including progression into higher apprenticeships • How Ascentis can enhance your Access to HE offer
