Creating a Greener Curriculum
At Ascentis we are passionate about creating life changing opportunities for all. We have become one of the leading awarding organisations and education charities, helping around 200,000 learners each year to progress onto further learning & work. Our mission is to enable learning through innovative education and exceptional customer service, and we also pride ourselves in making a difference to our Centres and learners with a variety of green initiatives in development.
The COP26 Climate Change conference has highlighted environmental sustainability as a priority for the education sectors, with many FE providers committing to adopting green skills and sustainable practices. NUS research has found that students care and want to learn about education for sustainable development (80%, 60% respectively), while a Zurich survey showed 2.4 million young people identified “eco-anxiety” as a major issue for them in future life choices.
Ascentis are proud to offer a range of qualifications to support your Centres’ Green initiatives and help learners understand the impact of issues such as climate change and plastic pollutants.

While COP26 aims to protect and restore ecosystems; Ascentis are pleased to be contributing towards this goal with our Plant A Tree initiative. When you book a meeting with one of our qualification experts, we’ll plant a tree on your behalf with the National Trust. When we plant a tree it contributes to reducing emissions and creating new habitats for wildlife such as the red squirrel and the greater spotted woodpecker as well as many other birds and animals. We will also send a certificate for you to display at your Centre.
