The UK aims to reach net-zero emissions by 2050. This means between 2022 and 2050, there will be a need to recruit around 400,000 energy jobs. This need would be across multiple areas including, digital, engineering and construction.

Access to HE supports those learners who wish to go on to higher education or progress in their employment. These qualifications offer learners the opportunity to reskill which is essential for job roles such as mechanics. This is because of technological advancements such as electric vehicles which are environmentally friendly. Studies suggest that by 2030 potentially 182,000 mechanics will need reskilling and 175,000 independent dealership employees will need retraining.
