Ascentis Launches New Level 5 Diploma in Teaching
We are delighted to announce the launch of a new Level 5 Diploma in Teaching, set to replace the existing Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (DET). Scheduled to commence registrations from the 1st September, 2024, this development signals a significant shift in the landscape of teaching qualifications within the Further Education and Skills (FES) sector.
Aligned with the Occupational Standards for the Learning and Skills Teacher, the new Level 5 Diploma in Teaching has been meticulously crafted to cater to the evolving needs of educators seeking comprehensive teaching credentials for the Further Education and Skills sector (FES). Developed in response to national advancements, this qualification adheres to the framework outlined by the Education and Training Foundation (ETF).
Key Features:
- Structure: Five mandatory units with optional units, offering learners a personalised pathway
- Practice Requirements: 250 hours of placement, including 150 hours of teaching practice, emphasising subject specialisation and holistic teaching experience.
Learners completing this qualification can apply for 'Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills' (QTLS) status and can pursue Advanced Teacher Status (ATS) for teaching in post-compulsory education.
