At Ascentis, we are dedicated to supporting learner progression, particularly for English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) learners seeking to enhance their employability. In response to feedback from our centres, we are excited to announce the upcoming launch of the Ascentis ESOL Enhanced Programme: E3 Skills for Employment in the new year. This innovative programme is designed to equip ESOL learners with essential skills for the workplace through a well-crafted curriculum developed in collaboration with tutors and industry specialists.
What to Expect from the Ascentis ESOL Enhanced Programme
Launching in the new year, the programme builds on the Ascentis Entry 3 Award in Skills for Employment and offers a comprehensive, ready-to-use package.
Key features include:
- Rule of Combination: A bespoke, easy to use, rule of combination has been developed based on the feedback and requirements of our ESOL centers. Delivery of the specified units will support learners to achieve the Ascentis Entry Level 3 Award in Skills for Employment.
- Enhanced tutor guidance: Each unit contained in the programme has been developed by both an ESOL and Employability specialist, so tutors can be assured that the content is expansive and supports them in the delivery of specified knowledge and skills.
- Tutor resources: Tutors have access to interactive teaching materials that are ready for teaching.
- Learner resources: Our focussed workbooks assist learners in evidencing their achievement towards the assessment criteria, forming part of their overall portfolio of assessment.
- Funded qualification: As the programme is built from our established Ascentis Entry Level 3 Award in Skills for Employment, centres can be assured that funding is available for the qualification. Check FALA for updated funding guidance.
- Achievement: Learners successfully completing the Ascentis ESOL Enhanced Programme: E3 Skills for Employment will be awarded the Ascentis Entry 3 Award in Skills for Employment.

The recommended Guided Learning Hours (GLH) for the programmes is 44 hours, with a Total Qualification Time (TQT) of 60 hours, making it a perfect sized programme to fit flexibly in the curriculum.
